3D Design and CAD Kitchen Planning

How can you visualise a kitchen even before a house is built? This was a problem facing one of our clients during the construction of their new oak timber framed home.

Birch & Painted Slab Door Kitchen in Elephants Breath.

The Day family's new home was still under construction and Adam and his wife Nicky wanted the kitchen design to make the most of the exposed oak timber that frames and supports the house. "We wanted something contemporary but softer in some ways, more in keeping with the exposed oak timber frame, something that reflected the lasting stability of natural wood and Mark interpreted what we wanted and our ideas very well,".

The brief that Beau-Port's Head Designer Mark Johnson delivered was a design for a completely new style of bespoke, very contemporary kitchen, one that would complement the exposed oak beams of this modern house. The added challenge was to show the client what it would look like before the kitchen was built.

Mark created a contemporary, yet timeless design and transferred it into a 3D version, presenting it to the client Adam Day who commented: "Mark understood the dynamics of the kitchen and utility/boot room very well and we were very happy with his layout design, all supported by a 3D design image which gave us a good feel of what the kitchen would look like. We had great confidence in Mark as he really listened to what we wanted to achieve but also took on board how we wanted to use the spaces. We didn't get this from the other kitchen companies that we had approached."

A 3D version of a kitchen design also helped another client to visualise how their new kitchen, dining and entertaining space would work and gave them a good idea of how it would look and Liz Burleton commented: "We like Mark's clear ideas and his 3D design gave us a much better view of how the finished kitchen would look. He is a great problem solver and came up with really good ideas, visiting us a number of times to make sure that his design was just right for our family and how we wanted to use the space."

The benefits of 3D design not only help to support and enhance our kitchen and interiors design, but also help clients to see how their finished project will look - even if the house hasn't been built yet!
