Liz and Simon Burleton came to Beau-Port Kitchens after a deciding to extend their existing kitchen into a larger and lighter room. With three children they needed a kitchen large enough to accommodate 5 people and all the food storage that comes with that.
One of the thing Liz was after is easy access to all of her food and cooking paraphernalia when cooking. This was achieved by creating a bank of three tall units that stored two full height fridge and freezer either side with a dry pantry in between for all of her dry food storage. In front of this was the island that had further storage and Liz’s double bowl ceramic sink as well as a 60cm, fully integrated dishwasher and integrated pull out bin system.
This meant that already, in such a small circumference, she had amazing access to the majority of her food and preparation area. Then off to the side you have a large twin oven Range cooker with induction top. Either side of this Liz picked out a feature she loved from our showroom, this was two set of pull out chopping board on dowel runners. This provided her with four different chopping board that could be kept separate for vegetables or meat preparation.
Above the Cherry Red range cooker we created a bespoke hood canopy. This combined chunky corbelled supports as well as a mantle type shelf above. We think this complemented the large and dominating range perfectly.
Moving back around into the large and vaulted part of the extension we provided further unit space topped with rich and warm natural oak. On the back of the island we incorporated an oak and painted wine rack as well as further cupboards with adjustable height shelving. Over to the left we have another great feature that fill out the large room. This custom dresser features drawer and cupboards below, separated by the natural oak worktop. On top of this we created a countertop dresser with tongue and groove panelling, oak shelves and tea cup hangers. Either side of this tea cup and shelf niche we placed two tall cupboards with glass doors to show off all of Liz’s lovely tea and chinaware.
The painted colours on this kitchen are a mixture of Farrow & Ball shades. On the island you have Pavilion Grey, which in this lighting looks almost blue. On the rest of the outer furniture and Liz’s table and chairs you have Old White. The combination of these two colours, oak on the outer worktops and Silestone “Blanco Stellar” stone on the island creates a light and airy space with a hint of warmth that fills this large space and makes for a wonderful space to live in.
As Liz said, "We are very, very pleased with our new kitchen," commented Liz enthusiastically. "It is excellent, absolutely brilliant. Everyone who sees it is very complementary and we feel we made a good choice by using Beau-Port. Nothing has been an issue and we found Mark and his fitters really pleasant, nice to work with and do a great job. Plus Mark is so calm and very level headed and understands the stresses of having building works going on. We have recommended Beau-Port to friends and they have already been to see the showroom," concluded Liz Burleton.
